Greetings Peacock Fans! Welcome back to the Agua Boa Amazon Lodge Fishing Report! As reported last week, the river has come up a lot over the past three groups. Primarily caused by one rain event a few Sundays ago, the river was on slow rise and then finally leveled off at the beginning of last week. The one thing that was interesting last week was that we figured that the river would start dropping right away, but oddly, it wasn’t until late in the day Wednesday that we saw the first indication that the river was dropping. Since then the Agua Boa has been decreasing flow at a predictable pace of around 3 inches per day.
Despite the less than perfect conditions last week the group hosted by Scott Heywood from Angling Destinations had the savvy and know how to make the best of the week. In fact, Scott’s group was made up of all veteran Agua Boa Anglers with the rookie in the group only having been here four times now! As always it was a ton of fun to have a great group of returnees. Enjoy a shot of Scott Heywood with a nice Acu!
One of the veteran anglers in last week’s group, Doug Jefferies, was the first to discovery that even with high water that the popper fishing remained good. The hard fighting Paca and Acu did what they do best by attacking Doug’s Poppers with speed and aggression. Check put a shot of Doug with a sweet peacock.
On a personal note. I would like to thank the Agua Boa, Guides, Staff, Clients, Owner Lance Ranger and especially Carlos Azevedo for another great season at the Agua Boa Amazon Lodge. The time I get to spend there each year is special to say the least. From the great fishing, to the amazing natural environment, first class facility and the camaraderie of a great team. Thanks, one and all!
Thanks for checking the Agua Boa Amazon Lodge Fishing Report and check back next week to get updates.
Carlos and Charlie
